Reaching out to those that cannot attend church in person!
If any of our Parishioners are aware of Church family, neighbors, friends, other members of your families, etc that cannot attend Church or events in person, Gethsemane now has a way of including those folks. If you have anyone that you think of, who would appreciate receiving the weekly bulletin, please give me (Jeff) a call in the office @ 345-6860. We now send the weekly bulletins to shut-ins, those incapacitated, those that have no transportation and that stay in touch with the office. This feature is truly welcomed by those that receive it every week. Please get me names and addresses of those friends and family members whom we can reach out to, so we can include those that may feel left out. Bless you all.
HOLIDAY DINNERS
Thanksgiving and Christmas
Our very own West Branch Food Pantry will be giving out Holiday Meal boxes for both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners this year to the 100 plus clients they serve now, twice per month. Some outside Sources have made it possible to purchase Turkey’s for Thanksgiving and Ham’s for Christmas which will brighten the Holidays for many folks that otherwise may not have had the opportunities.
We in the food bank do need a little bit of help from our friends and families of Gethsemane. There are a few things that we are still short of to meet the needs of all four Distributions for the Holiday meals. We truly hope that help is in the air.
We are in need of: Instant Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, Noodles and Sweet Potatoes. All turkey’s are bought for Thanksgiving and Hams will be here in time for Christmas.
Should you be able to help out, please bring your food items to church with you and place them next to the cloakroom. We are very proud of our Church and our Church family and how we all work together. God Bless you all and Thank you so much.

Please join the ” A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT CLUB”. Some of our church family and friends can’t be with us for worship, for many reasons. They still think about us and pray for us. We started sending cards before the Virus hit but now that we’re worshiping together again, it would be nice to continue that. For the month of November, let’s bless a little surprise to boost their spirits.

We strive to keep the church building clean,
and ready for ministry.
Please inform the church office when a meeting is scheduled,
so the custodians can clean the space afterwards.
We ask each gathering to keep a list of attendees.
Should someone become sick,
and contact tracing become necessary, we will need the list.
Also, please send your meeting minutes to Jeff,
so we can maintain the record for future leaders and committees. Thank you for your leadership and discipline!
Visitation program for our families ! Think of the people around us who are our Church Family who are seriously challenged to get to do any needed shopping, to doctors, and to Church. Think of how an hour of our time would brighten their day. They love and need to reminisce and share. We’re building a team for visitation to these people. It would be for an HOUR or TWO a month. Please talk to Robin about this. We definitely have a need of this. People are truly lonely and feel left out of their Church and even society. 2020 Annual Church conference
The 2020 Annual Church Conference is scheduled for Sunday NOVEMBER 22, 2020 @ 5:30 PM. At this time, the conference will be held at the Gethsemane Church. All members have a vote. Please mark your calendar Please don’t read this and say to yourself, this isn’t for me. It is very fulfilling to actually know about workings of the Methodist Church’s operations. Please come.

We will have our Tree in the near future, with children’s name tags attached to it.

Any time you use a water source here in the Church building,
please check them before you exit the building.
We do have some spigots that do leak heavy and gone unnoticed it can drastically increase our charged water consumption. We do have a couple toilets that seem to stick and sometimes do not shut off and are leaking water constantly. Our other concern of leaks is in the Kitchen dishwasher room. The dish Sprayer does leak heavily at times. Please check that before leaving.

Fall Thanksgiving Pie Sale
As a way to provide funds for the upkeep of the Allport Cemetery,
the Gethsemane United Methodist Church will be selling pies that
will be ready for pickup Wednesday, Nov 25, 2020. The pies will be made at the church and will be $10.00 each. Any questions, call church office 814-345-6860.
Orders are due Nov 22, 2020 and must be prepaid.
