The Mission of Gethsemane Church is to be

The Church began by being together in the upper room.¹  Together is an essential description of how Church works, and as we “are the body of Christ and individually members of it” (I Corinthians 12:27 [NRSV]), Together is an essential description of who we are as followers of Jesus.

SEeking God

At Gethsemane Church, Seeking God is the way we describe the process of growing closer and deeper in our relationship with God.  Whether one is “just looking” or committed to Christ for decades, God continues to draw us closer and deeper.  We provide a multitude of ways in which one can seek the God who seeks us.²

MAking Disciples

As followers of Jesus, we have the best. good. news. ever.   Making Disciples means that we intentionally share about Jesus.  The Holy Spirit convinces.³  Our job is to tell what we’ve seen and heard.⁴

ReNEwing the World

It doesn’t take much to convince someone that the world around us is a mess.  But even in worst of the mess, God is at work.  Renewing the World is the way we talk about how we can be a part of what God is doing in our world⁵.  From food and clothing banks, to caring for children and elderly, in the West Branch Area and across the globe, Renewing the World at Gethsemane Church is what we do to make God’s love feel real.
