Worship Service Assistants

Until Things return nearer to normal,  no one will be assigned. At the present time, our worship needs are a liturgist and an Acolyte.  Judy has been our Pandemic Liturgist and Austin is our #1 acolyte. Judy has agreed to hang in there and we now have Austin back.  We will contact folks as we continue to increase more normal scenarios.

PRELUDE

We are excited that you are worshipping with Gethsemane today.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We confess that the circle of love is repeatedly broken
because of our sin of exclusion.

We create separate circles:

the inner circle and the outer circle,
the circle of power and the circle of despair,
the circle of privilege and the circle of deprivation.

Forgive us our sins,

as we forgive all who have sinned against us.

We confess that the circle of love is broken
whenever there is alienation,

whenever there is misunderstanding,

  whenever there is insensitivity

or a hardening of the heart.

Forgive us our sins,

as we forgive all who have sinned against us.

We confess that the circle of love is broken
whenever we cannot see eye to eye,
whenever we cannot link hand to hand,

whenever we cannot live heart to heart

and affirm our differences.

          Forgive us our sins,

as we forgive all who have sinned against us.

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE

Let us welcome the children: “Jesus Loves Me”

“Jesus loves me! This I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; they are weak, but he is strong. Yes! Jesus loves me, Yes! Jesus loves me. Yes! Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so”.

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION     (In unison after prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and  the power and the glory forever. Amen

(Matthew 6:9-13)
