Worship Service Assistants

Until Things return nearer to normal,  no one will be assigned. At the present time, our worship needs are a liturgist and an Acolyte.  Judy has been our Pandemic Liturgist and Austin is our #1 acolyte. Judy has agreed to hang in there and we now have Austin back.  We will contact folks as we continue to increase more normal scenarios.

“When God values us truly

or recognizes us as God’s children,

rather than as strangers,

God sees beyond our appearances…

When we recognize strangers as Jesus,

we too see beyond appearances.

Gospel hospitality is marked

by such recognition.”

We are excited that you are Worshipping with us at Gethsemane today.

OPENING PRAYER

OPENING PRAYER

Leader 1: Be careful!

Leader 2: Watch out!

Leader 1: You might get a bad reputation coming to church with us.

Leader 2: If you haven’t noticed,

Jesus is known for keeping bad company.

Leader 1: Jesus was always eating and drinking

    with tax collectors and sinners.

Leader 2: Jesus even called Levi, one of Rome’s tax collectors,

and ranked him among the twelve apostles.

Leader 1: You didn’t really expect to find this church full of saints,

    did you?

Leader 2: Look around you.  Every member of this church

has confessed to being a sinner.

Leader 1: So be careful!

Leader 2: Jesus came to call not the righteous, but sinners

Let us welcome the children: “Jesus Loves Me”.

“Jesus loves me! This I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; they are weak, but he is strong. Yes! Jesus loves me, Yes! Jesus loves me. Yes! Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so”.

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION     (In unison after prayer)

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and  the power and the glory forever. Amen
