We are excited that you are worshiping with Gethsemane today.
Prayer of Confession
We often act like we are the only children in your family, God. Our arrogance has caused divisions where none should be.
We forget that through Christ we have been adopted Into the family you have chosen for your own.
And we forget others were adopted from other ethnic groups. And other denominations of the Christian church.
We have not loved them as brothers and sisters should be loved, Nor have we loved the unity for which Christ prayed.
Remind us again that our adoption has become a reality Only by the precious blood of your Son, Jesus the Christ.
Never let us forget that we are members of your family,
Not by inheritance, but by loving and grace-filled adoption.
WORDS OF PARDON
L: Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
P: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! All: Glory to God. Amen.

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION (In unison after prayer)
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
