Youth Group

Gethsemane U.M. youth group is for all kids in 7th-12th grade. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. You don’t have to be a member of Gethsemane to be part of the youth group. We have kids from other churches who don’t have a youth group.

We are focused on serving God with our talents and growing stronger in our relationship with Jesus. We do this in many ways throughout the year. Here are just a few of the activities our group does.

Annual Mission Trip: One week away from the normal distractions of life to serve God by our work, have fun and fellowship with each other, take part in crazy devotions, and witness to others through our actions.

30 hr Famine: 30 hrs of fasting, competition, Bible lessons and saving lives. A great time to grow closer to God. This year we will break the $30,000.00 mark. So far we have saved the loves of app. 76 kids, giving them the chance to accept Jesus.

Box Sleepout: Yes! Sleep outside in a cardboard box. We’ve done this in 16° snowy weather and 60° clear nights. You never know what October will bring. Money raised from the sleepout has benefited mens and womens shelters, veteran homes, O.C.C shoe boxes and flood buckets.

We do many other activities during the year from concerts, local mission projects, and O.C.C. To trips such as the one to the creation museum and Noah’s Ark encounter.  Our  Sunday school class is also available to everyone from 7th to 12th grade. All youth are welcome!
