PRELUDE
OPENING PRAYER: (in unison)
Holy God, You call us out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. As we hear Your Word today, open our eyes as You opened the eyes of the blind man. Help us to ask the questions that lead us closer to truth, and give us hearts ready to see, understand, and follow Your Son. May Your light awaken us, guide us, and transform us.
In Jesus’ name we pray
Amen
*OPENING HYMN: “Amazing Grace” # 378
EPISTLE LESSON: Ephesians 5:8-14 Georgette Eirich
In what ways do you see “walking in darkness” in your life or community, and how can God’s light guide change?”
CHILDREN’S MESSAGE: “Jesus Loves Me”
SONG OF PRAYER: “Lord Listen to Your Children Praying” # 2193
PRAYER OF INTERCESSION (In unison after prayer)
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
(Matthew 6:9-13)

PRAISE TEAM
GOSPEL LESSON: John 9:1-41
Pastor: Friends, we read today of a man born blind,
Congregation: Who sat by the roadside, asking for a sign.
Pastor: His disciples asked Jesus with care,
Congregation: “Rabbi, who sinned—this man or his parents—where?”
Pastor: Jesus said, “Neither has sinned to deserve this fate,
Congregation: “But that the works of God in him be made great.”
Pastor: He spat on the ground, made mud with his hands,
Congregation: “Go wash in the pool,” as Jesus commands.
Pastor: The man obeyed, and his sight was restored,
Congregation: Glory to God, let our hearts be poured!
Pastor: The Pharisees questioned, their hearts full of doubt,
Congregation: “How can a sinner such miracles spout?”
Pastor: But he answered boldly, “One thing I know,
Congregation: I was blind, and now I see, let my witness show!”
Pastor: Jesus heard of the blind man’s faith,
Congregation: And called him near, removing all wraith.
Pastor: “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
Congregation: “Who is He, sir? Teach me if You can.”
Pastor: Jesus said, “You have seen Him, He speaks true,
Congregation: “Lord, I believe,” and his spirit knew.
Pastor: Let us, like him, open our eyes to the light,
Congregation: And walk in God’s truth, His love, and His might.
Pastor: The Word of God for the people of God!
Congregation: Thanks be to God!
