PRELUDE
RESPONSIVE READING OF PSALM 8: (congregation reads bold print)
O Lord, our God,
how majestic is your name throughout the universe!
Even newborn infants declare your glory!
The vastness of the heavens is your refuge,
making even the angriest soul fall silent.
When I look at the vast sky, the handiwork of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you arrange,
I think, what are we that you are mindful of us?
That in our smallness you will care for us?
Yet you have gifted us with divine awareness,
and anointed us with light and spirit.
You give us responsibility for the works of your hands;
you make us stewards of creation.
Not only the livestock and house animals,
but the wild creatures, the birds and the fish,
and all the inhabitants of the earth.
O Lord, our God,
how majestic is your name throughout the universe!

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
