Holy God, we confess that it is easy to offer you our words, but much harder to offer you our lives. As we look into your Word today, quiet our defensive minds and dismantle our pride. Give us the humility of the first son to repent, and grant us the self-emptying mind of Christ to serve. Transform our hearts today, so that our lives may mirror your obedience in the vineyard of the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
