The first Sunday of every month is Building Fund Offering Sunday.  This money will be used for capital expenses. There are envelopes in the Welcome Center for your monetary gifts. 

FINGERS of FAITH  Crochet/Knitting group meets TUESDAYS @ 6:30. Join the fellowship to learn, share a pattern or get help with a difficult stitch.

Grow Like A Willow Small  Group will be sponsoring a bus to Joyce Meyer Ministries at the Giant Center, Hershey on November 9.   Admission is free to the conference.  The cost for the bus is $31 per person.  There are 2 sessions (morning and afternoon). Once we are at the Center, we won’t leave until the afternoon session is over.  There will be vendors there to buy lunch.  Please sign up at the Welcome Center and indicate whether you’d like to stop for dinner on the way home.  You can also contact Missy Maines (321-3036) or Robin Marshall (345-6601) for more information.

                        MAKING      NEW            DISCIPLES  

The Breakfast Club” Sunday School class for ages 18 – 30 will be on vacation the month of Augustand will resume in September.   Watch the bulletin for details!

Pray for our Sunday School and church van ministry. Please pray for the leaders as they teach the children, teen and adults  about Jesus and pray for hearts and minds to receive the truth of God’s word and many would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.  

Monetary donations (Weis or Wal-Mart gift cards) are always welcome to help with cost of Sunday morning Children’s Breakfast.  If you would like to donate, please put money in envelope marked “Children’s SS Breakfast” and place in offering plate.  

                        RENEWING THE WORLD

NEXT SUNDAY  will be “Sunday Fun Day”.  There will be a picnic at Lakemont Park at 1 pm.  Hot dogs and drinks will be provided. Bring a covered dish to share.  Admission to the park is free.  If you want to ride, cost of ticket is $15.95 per person. Then  Faith Night at the Curve starts at 6 pm.  Tickets cost $6 each.    If you are going to Curve Game, money is due TODAY.  Please put money in envelope with your name and write CURVE GAME on it and place in offering plate.  If you are paying by check, make it out to Gethsemane.  Come and enjoy a day filled with fellowship, friends, food and FUN!  Sign-up sheets are located in the Welcome Center.  

GUMC Annual Corn Boil will be Tuesday, August 20th    6 pm.  Corn on the cob, hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks will be provided.  Bring a salad or dessert to share.  SIGN UP sheet on the bulletin board by sanctuary entrance. 

Please check out the LOST ITEMS  BOX  to see if something belongs to you.  It will be emptied TOMORROW.    

A big Thank You to all who are involved in the JJ Powell Church Program for heating fuel.  A check was received for $238.60 for the months January – June 2019.  Church attenders who wish to participate in the Church program can all JJ Powell anytime  342-3190.

Volunteers in Mission Team Leader Training will be Nov.2 in Lewistown.  Topics covered include: Best Practices, Cultural Awareness, Health & Safety, Team Orientations, Useful Forms, and Fundraising. Open to all: those who have lead teams and those who have never been on a team.  We can all learn to become better missionaries and servants.  If interested, contact Penny 345-4222

GUMC Youth will be collecting scrap metal and accepting donations throughout the year to raise money for the mission trips.  Please call Steve (761-1722) if you have scrap metal to donate.
